Message	96 car and they seemed to indicate that its possible by swapping in cams, solenoids from a 95 car. Also you'd need to add the ecu controlled portion. The details are fuzzy but as I recall the preproduction 96 ecus even had markings on the ecu boards for where it should go but it was fully deleted in the productions units.
